Two Ten WIFI Grants Offer Opportunity to Grow

Wednesday, February 26, 2025

It’s exciting to see more and more women leveraging Two Ten’s WIFI Grant program to access professional development opportunities. We were delighted to hear from several grantees who applied for a WIFI grant to cover the cost of enrollment in an Arsutoria workshop on footwear manufacturing earlier this month.

Christiana Contrada and Jen Cain of Converse said this about their experience:

”We are incredibly grateful to  theTwo Ten Footwear Foundation for their generous grant, which allowed us to attend the Arsutoria 5-day workshop in Norwood, MA. The support made it possible for the both of us to deepen our understanding of footwear construction, materials, and design in an immersive, hands-on environment … with amazing teachers! The workshop provided indispensable insights that will impact our work in product development at Converse, and we left feeling inspired and better equipped to contribute to our footwear industry. Two Ten’s commitment to education and professional growth is truly remarkable, and I appreciate their investment in those of us looking to expand our expertise. Thank you, Two Ten, for making this experience possible—we highly recommend anyone in the footwear industry explore the opportunities they provide!” - Christiana and Jen

Wendy Triana of Fortune Footwear wrote this:

“Creating a shoe involves numerous components, including the lasts, upper materials, and outsole materials. I've gained a deeper appreciation for my job and for my colleagues overseas. Receiving this grant enabled me to further my knowledge in the industry, which I previously lacked. It provided me the opportunity to return to a classroom-like setting where I could ask questions and enhance my understanding.”
