Two Ten Scholar Highlight: Brody Junge

Brody Junge is a Two Ten Scholar who just finished his first year at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he is majoring in Industrial Design. He shared a bit about his journey at the Two Ten Gala in June. 

Brody Junge always had an instinct for design and construction, thanks to his upbringing in his family’s furniture-making business. When he became interested in sneakers in high school, he started lending his creative passions to the footwear-making process. 

“There was this shoe drop that I really wanted to get, but they sold out and I couldn't get them,” Brody said. Instead of spending the money to buy them at resale, he decided to buy the supplies to make his own pair. 

“I had never sewn before, but I was determined to figure it out,” Brody said. “A few months later, I finished my first pair. And then I just kept making them.” 

Brody eventually began selling his shoes, collaborating with local business and participating in fashion shows — including one he launched in December 2023. He also expanded to creating wallets and tote bags. It wasn’t long before he knew his future had to be in design. And with the help of Two Ten, he was able to enroll in his dream school and begin his formal design education with a focus on footwear. 

Brody recently completed his first year at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he’s majoring in Industrial Design with minors in Materials Science & Engineering and Business. In just one year, he’s made impressive strides — landing a job at an on-campus architecture and design shop, completing a footwear project he submitted to his first design competition, and forming strong connections with mentors who are helping shape his path forward. Looking ahead, Brody is building up his footwear portfolio and chasing his next internship opportunities.  

“Knowing that I have support every semester has been a major relief,” Brody said of the Two Ten scholarship. “I know this was objectively the best program for me, so having that support to help reduce family stress and help me achieve what I want to achieve is very helpful.”
