Empowerment and work/life balance were the themes of the evening as the WIFI Charlotte chapter came together on Wednesday, October 17th for a panel discussion entitled “Women Navigating Career & Life”.
The event, which was sponsored by Margaritaville Shoes, took place at the beautiful Carmel Country Club just outside of downtown Charlotte.
Panel participants included Tanya Gordon, VP/DMM of Women’s & Children’s NonAthletic Footwear & Accessories at Shoe Carnival, Dawn Campbell, VP of Planning, Shoes at Belk, and Meredith Lardie, former footwear executive. The event was moderated by Brittany Moeller, Buyer-Women’s at Rack Room Shoes and co-chair of the WIFI Charlotte chapter.

Panel speakers shared anecdotes and words of wisdom from their own careers as they discussed navigating through mergers and acquisitions, the importance of industry mentors, finding a balance between career and family, and working through difficult conversations in the workplace.
Event participants from a variety of footwear companies including Rack Room Shoes, Off Broadway Shoes, Keds, Belk, Shoe Show, and others came out to support their colleagues and find inspiration in the conversation.
The evening concluded with an audience Q&A in which participants asked a variety of thought-provoking questions.
Thank you to our panel speakers for sharing their wisdom, to Margaritaville Shoes for sponsoring, and to the women of Charlotte for a wonderful fall event!
