A Footwear Family Stays in their Home

Categories: Community Stories, News/Blog

“My wife was diagnosed with cancer.  She had been working at her company for 17 years and didn’t want to stop; in fact, she never took a sick day until then,” says Tom, a shoe store Manager.  When the bills started rolling in, Tom had to take a second job to keep up, but it still wasn’t enough to stay afloat.  “I had exhausted all avenues and worried that foreclosure was just around the corner.”

Thankfully a co-worker urged Tom to call Two Ten and we were able to provide him with some relief. “The money enabled us to get out from under some debt, and allowed us to stay in our home,” said Tom, “I’m living proof that Two Ten helps people when they need it most.”

Tom and his family were just one of the thousands of footwear families Two Ten helped last year, but it was the kindness of a co-worker that pushed him in the right direction.
