Scholarship Program FAQs
Answers to some frequently asked questions about Two Ten scholarships.
Where can I apply?
Applications are only accepted through our website at twoten.org. Two Ten partners with International Scholarships & Tuition Services (ISTS) to manage all incoming scholarship applications. You’ll be asked to create an account on our application portal and supply our program key: TwoTen. When you create an account with ISTS you may also be able to apply to other scholarships, using other unique program codes.
If you are currently receiving a Two Ten Scholarship, you do not complete a new application. Your ISTS portal will establish a Renewal Application for each year, up to 3 years, that you are eligible for the Two Ten Scholarship, or until you graduate, whichever happens first.
What are the selection criteria?
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic achievement and contributions outside of the classroom. All applicants must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and priority is given to those with a Student Aid Index (SAI) below $30,000.
Two Ten also offers scholarships specifically for military families and for members of the National Shoe Travelers (NST) and their dependents.
How competitive is this scholarship?
Your chances of receiving a scholarship depend on several factors, including your financial circumstances, the size and competitiveness of the applicant pool in a given year, the strength of your application and unique qualifications, and the number of returning scholars renewing their awards. Scholarships are awarded annually and may be renewed for up to three years, provided recipients continue to meet eligibility requirements, including a minimum 2.5 GPA and employment in the footwear industry.
Two Ten scholarships are funded by members of the footwear community to support footwear families, which is central to our mission. While we strive to maximize the number of awards granted each year, we are not able to fund every eligible applicant.
How much are the awards?
Two Ten scholarships are annual awards renewable for up to four years of study. An annual award is typically $4,000 and the scholarship is worth up to $16,000 in total. National Shoe Travelers (NST) members and their legal dependents and grandchildren qualify for higher annual awards of $5,000, for a total of $20,000 over four years.
Is the Two Ten application hard to complete?
Applications are straightforward. However, it is important to note that along with the standard questions you see on any scholarship application, you’ll also be asked to provide information around eligibility, including employment verification for the eligible employee, the applicant’s most recent FAFSA, and their GPA.
When are applications due?
Applications are accepted from late November through April 1. Finalists are notified no later than July 1, and scholarship awards are mailed directly to the educational institution to be applied to the recipient’s account for the fall and spring semesters. To access the Two Ten Scholarship application for the first time, the Program Key is TwoTen.
Renewal Applications open on January 1 annually and are accepted through April 1. If you are renewing your application this year and don’t see a Renewal Application available to you in the portal, please email ContactUs@applyists.com and Education@twoten.org so we can make sure you are properly setup in the system.
