This is essential knowledge for everyone involved in the development of a shoe, said Stephanie Belov, a footwear designer from Nine West who was the recipient of a $2,500 Two Ten scholarship and attended the recent five-day Ars Sutoria class at Two Tens offices in Waltham, MA.
Ars Sutoria instructors Paolo Marenghe and Andrea Montagna travel from Milan twice a year to teach a select group of students the important, often overlooked details and techniques being applied in production factories throughout the world. Its a great way for me to get years worth of experience in a single week, said Al Adams, a Engineer developing boots for the US Army.
The Ars Sutoria scholarship offering is one of the many ways that Two Ten helps to strengthen the footwear industry through education. The next class be held September 14-18, 2015. To learn more about the program and to apply for a Two Ten Scholarship, please visit arssutoria.com.
