Two Ten’s Social Impact Award goes to!

Categories: Footwear Cares

When “Doing good things” is your company mantra, it encompasses everything you strive to do as an organization and affects positive change in your community.  The Zappos For Good program epitomizes how the team fulfills this mission on a daily basis.  It’s also why they were honored with Two Ten’s Social Impact Award, given out at Two Ten’s 79th Annual Gala on December 5th in New York City.  Two Ten Footwear Foundation’s Social Impact Award recognizes a company or individual who makes giving back to the community a priority in the spirit of Two Ten’s legacy of “footwear cares.”

Zappos For Good is a comprehensive and caring program that impacts the greater Las Vegas community and beyond, tackling everything from disaster relief to Zappos annual community events on their campus.  Every Thanksgiving week, Zappos hosts multiple events to help care for the underprivileged, providing over 500 family meals as well as putting shoes on thousands of people in need – young and old.  These events continue throughout the holiday season.  In the spring, Zappos hosts The Prom Closet which completely outfits over 1,000 underprivileged area teens, so they can attend their school prom with confidence.  At Zappos’ Roc Nation events, professional athletes host local high school football camps which help kids hone their skills on the gridiron.  Zappos For Good also supports the Las Vegas school district with back-to-school campaigns and has partnered with Goodie Two Shoes to donate several thousand pairs of shoes and socks to children throughout the school year.  Beyond Las Vegas, they’ve put more than 20,000 pairs of shoes on people affected by fires in California and flooding throughout the nation.  And this list goes on.

In their own words, “Zappos For Good is our way of spreading happiness and nurturing and celebrating the good in everyone.  For a service business with a vision to become the world’s most community-focused large company, ‘the right thing to do’ leaves little room for confusion.  It means doing right by our values, our employees, our customers, and the world at large.  It means giving back.  And it means doing good things.”
