A history helping footwear families in crisis.
Steve Madden and his team are more than just friends to Two Ten – they are an instrumental partner and champion of our mission from small to big gestures of support. Over the last year, the company has committed to significant funds supporting Two Ten’s Annual Gala, which sent the event soaring over its $3.6 million goal this past November. The company, and Steve himself, have remained a top ten supporter of Two Ten for over a decade, contributing substantial support to a variety of Two Ten programming including our scholarship and endowment funds.
Prior to the gala, this past September Steve Madden shattered records by reinvigorating the New York golf tournament and raising the largest amount in Two Ten golf tournament history! Proceeds from the day were earmarked to go directly to help our footwear colleagues who have been affected by the recent, catastrophic hurricanes. With an average victim of the hurricanes needing $2,500 in assistance, these proceeds helped 50 shoe families in Houston, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the USVI rebuild their lives.
Recently, in February at Two Ten’s WIFI Impact Awards event in Las Vegas, the WIFI National Committee chose three senior leaders at Steve Madden who have been the force behind the company’s growing success: Amelia Newton Varela, President, Gabriella Weiser, VP of Marketing, and Karla Frieders, Chief Merchandising Officer. These women have played a significant role in the success of the company and have established a reputation for being strong effective leaders.
Most recently, over 200 employees from Steve Madden, Schwartz & Benjamin and Dolce Vita celebrated Two Ten Day (2/10/18) and raised over $2,000 for Two Ten’s Emergency Relief Fund. The effort also helped to spread awareness for Two Ten within the Steve Madden family.
