Change is the only thing that you can ever be certain of. But successfully navigating that change takes some practice and knowhow. As part of the Two Ten WIFI speaker series, the Columbus chapter recently hosted an event that focused on that very topic.
Sponsored by DSW, Two Ten WIFI Columbus hosted an exciting event on Navigating Change and chaired by Angie Kenney, Director of Product Development and Sales at BBC International and co-chair of the Two Ten WIFI Columbus chapter, along with Carrie Brady, Associate Buyer at DSW. At the event, Angie joined Antoinette Carter, GM Womens Merchandising at DSW shared their experiences navigating change. The women shared personal and professional stories about managing change and offered great advice about what it means to be flexible in approach to successfully stay ahead of the curve.
Speaking of change
During the event it was also announced that Angie Kenney would be turning the co-chair role over to Ann Kinser, Manager of Treasury at RG Barry. Two Ten is incredibly grateful to Angie for the work that she has done in growing the Two Ten WIFI program both nationally and in Columbus.
Carrie said of Angie, Angie was a great leader at WIFI because she was dedicated (to) scheduling regular events and welcomed everyone with open arms. Angies enthusiasm for footwear carries through to her passion for people. She took the time to get to know as many people as she could within the group and made everyone feel like they were an important part of making WIFI what it is.
To help you get to know our WIFI Columbus co-chairs, weve included a few interview questions below:
Two Ten: Why is it important for you and your company to be involved with Two Ten?
Ann: Personally, I believe the old saying, you get what you give. I think in general people have forgotten the value of charity. I think it is important to set a standard as a company that you are concerned about people, not just hitting the numbers.
Two Ten: What is the biggest opportunity that you see for WIFI?
Carrie: Im most excited to bring more people together in the Columbus area that have a passion for footwear. Working at DSW, Im surrounded by shoe lovers everyday I look forward to recruiting new members into WIFI inside AND outside the DSW walls. Im excited to broaden our network and build new relationships among one another in the Columbus area.
Two Ten: Recommend a resource that youve seen lately that you recommend as a resource for women in footwear.
Carrie: Instagram (Really!) I follow celebs, brands, companies, festivals, etc. Its like having street fashion at your fingertipsanytime, anyplace, constantly streaming! Social media is taking the world by storm, use it to your advantage!
Ann: I would recommend an article in Smart Business Columbus September 2015. The link is www.sbnonline.com entitled 2015 Smart Women Breakfast and Awards Success redefined: Exploring the evolving definition of success in a rapidly changing world.
