Footwear Cares Diaper Coalition

Categories: Footwear Cares, Two Ten News

As Footwear Cares expands into a yearlong initiative, footwear companies continue to participate in group events all across the US. Employees from DSW, RG Barry, Foot Petals, and Bank of America gathered at the DSW Headquarters this June to pack diapers for the Columbus Diaper Coalition.

The Columbus Diaper Coalition, founded in 2013, helps provide diapers to families in need. In the state of Ohio, diapers are not currently covered by Ohio Works First, SNAP Benefits, and other social-service organizations.

Thursday evening, over 40 volunteers came together to help provide a months’ worth of diaper orders for the non-profit. In total, over 30,000 diapers were packed, and a combined effort of 92 hours was given to this initiative.

A big thank you goes out to Jonica Armstrong and DSW for not only being a driving force behind this initiative, but also for hosting this fantastic event. Two Ten would also like to thank Dru Williams, Holly Waddell, and Angela Kenney from RG Barry for assisting in the production of this event.
