And over $30,000 raised to support footwear families in need!

Our annual Belk/Atlanta Shoe Market/Two Ten Golf Tournament held in April at the Tega Cay Golf Club in South Carolina was a great success! The generosity was overflowing throughout the day and we were grateful for the donations which will help footwear families in need from coast-to-coast.

Under the experienced guidance of Laura Conwell-O’Brien, Executive Director of the Atlanta Shoe Market, and Wes Satterfield, Assistant Buyer of Belk, who have been co-chairing this event for 4 years, we raised an amazing $30,000 for Two Ten – even though the inclement, tornado-driven weather kept many golfers away who would normally have made it to this event, now in its 4th year.

Although a chilly day for South Carolina – in fact, many golfers thought the Two Ten crew brought the New England-like weather with us –the event truly showed us how lucky we are to have such generous supporters who believe in our mission. The day included many inspiring highlights, including Vicki, one of our Two Ten Heroes who attended the event and shared a heartfelt message that brought Two Ten’s mission up close and personal to the golfers. A few years ago, Vicki’s son was paralyzed after a horrific diving accident and, after receiving assistance from Two Ten, they were able to turn their focus to his recovery instead of bills. We were also deeply appreciative of our 50/50 Raffle Winners, Carey Bates and Jeff Waataja, who selflessly donated their winnings back to Two Ten.

We were truly inspired by all who participated in the tournament. Their gifts of time and donations made the event a wonderful day of fun, care and compassion!

A huge thank you to Laura, Wes and Tega Cay Golf Club for their unwavering support before and during the tournament. We couldn’t have done it without you and are looking forward to what’s next in 2019!
