Mark spent the majority of his career on the retail side of the aisle and has held progressive roles in both Buying and Planning in his 20+ years in retail.
Throughout his career, Mark has embraced the emerging trends that have occurred in retail. Mark became the first E-Commerce Analyst for Kohls Dept stores, when they launched kohls.com. Eight years later (and many Brick and Mortar steps in between), Kohls dedicated focus to growing the demand on kohls.com and Mark became the first E-Commerce Buyer for Kohls, overseeing all Footwear, Womens Accessories, and Beauty/Fragrance. Mark grew this business twenty-fold over the 5 years in his position, and was then approached by DSW to become the Sr. Buyer- Womens for dsw.com. DSW later created Omni-Buying opportunities, and Mark was promoted to Sr. Buyer- Womens Boots and Sandals for both DSW stores and .com. Finally, DSW acquired Ebuys/Shoe Metro, a San Diego based online footwear company focusing on Amazon/Ebay Marketplace selling, and Mark remotely managed a team of eighteen as Sr. Director- Merchandising/Marketing/Analytics. At Deer Stags, Mark focuses on driving digital growth through assortment enhancements, marketing initiatives and through the use of data analytics.
Mark has made philanthropic activities a part of his life. Mark co-chaired the 2013 company-wide Kohls “Go Green” events, which organized thousands of volunteers in public park restoration, recycling programs, and other environmental work. Mark also regularly volunteered at the Kohls Cares, and DSW Shoe People Care events, and participates in community events with his wife Sally, and two sons, Max and Sam. Mark is honored to be part of the Associate Board for Two Ten, and looks forward to making significant contributions to helping shoe people in times of need.
