Meet the Two Ten Team

Neal Newman, President
Neal Newman has 30-year international track record of developing and leading high-performance nonprofit organizations in the United States and Europe. Prior to his appointment as President at Two Ten, Neal established the award-winning consulting practice Philanthropia International specializing in international development, philanthropy and major donor programs. Before moving to Dublin, Ireland in 1995, Neal served as Executive Director of the Coalition for a Better Acre (CBA) for many years and worked for Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation (now NeighborWorks) on the national economic development staff. Neal earned his master's degree at Tufts University in urban and environmental policy planning. When not at Two Ten, Neal enjoys family time with wife Orla, daughter Jessie and son Conor (now at University College Dublin), playing tennis and tuning into a good soccer match.

Tanya Allain, Communications Manager
Tanya Allain brings seven years of customer service and administrative skills, which have served her well during her former role as Programs/Administrative Assistant at Two Ten. Drawing upon her additional experience planning and executing fundraising events at the Tuesday Night Athletic Foundation, Tanya was promoted to the position of Communications Coordinator. Tanya graduated summa cum laude from Gabelli School of Business with a bachelor's degree in business management. Her volunteer service includes Habitat for Humanity, Smiles Mentoring and Tutoring Plus. Tanya enjoys reading and traveling in her free time.

Kate Alley, Program Director, Social Services and Scholarships
Kate Alley's passion for helping others led her to contribute to a host of worthy causes around the globe including Alaska, Mozambique, the Dominican Republic and Thailand. Over the last 15 years, Kate has leveraged her unique combination of business administration, strategy, clinical and program management skills to help for-profits and not-for-profits raise public awareness and promote their brands. Kate received her bachelor's degree in Russian studies from Drew University and her MBA and MSW degrees from Boston University. Kate is an avid skier and cyclist, having completed the Pan Mass Challenge in 2010 and 2011.

Jeanne Connolly-Horrigan, Director of Communications
Jeanne graduated summa cum laude from Curry College and obtained a master's degree in communications managment from Simmons College. Jeanne brings more than 20 years' experience to Two Ten, including a stint in Sales and Marketing Communications at Reebok. Jeanne joined Two Ten in 2009 as Director of Program Outreach, where she helped build partnerships with the footwear community. Now as Director of Communications, Jeanne oversees marketing, outreach, and community initiatives. She is a current member of the International Association of Business Communicators. Jeanne is a past Co-Chair of the Steering Council for Massachusetts Pain Initiative and continues as a volunteer. She is a runner and avid cyclist, each year participating in the Pan Massachusetts Challenge to support cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
Mary Hehir, Executive Assistant
Mary Hehir has been a dedicated Two Ten employee since 2000, serving as Executive Assistant to the President. Prior to Mary's time at Two Ten, she worked for 16 years at Boston College as the Office Manager in Campus Ministry. Not only is Mary dedicated to Two Ten, she is a long-standing and unwavering supporter of the New England Patriots.

Kate Kaplan, Director of Development
Kate Kaplan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College and a master's degree in public policy with a concentration in nonprofit management at Tufts University. Kate brings 25 years of nonprofit management and fundraising experience for organizations committed to community engagement and volunteerism. She has worked on several multi-million dollar fundraising campaigns, including annual fund and major gifts programs and special events. Kate's volunteer service includes Tufts Alumni Council, Concord Scout House, Inc., and United Way of Massachusetts Bay. Kate enjoys competing in triathlons and being a Girl Scout leader in her spare time.

Denzil Paul, Outreach Manager
Denzil organizes the community-building initiatives and events for Two Ten and has a 10-year track record of fostering relationships with education, community and political leaders within both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Denzil completed his bachelor's degree in management studies at the University of the West Indies, and is currently pursuing a Master of Education degree from Cambridge College. Denzil serves as a volunteer for several Boston-based organizations, including Horizon for Homeless Children, Brockton Symphony Orchestra and the Museum of Science. A native of the twin-island republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean, Denzil believes in the power of community building and breaking bread with good food. In his spare time, Denzil enjoys watching soccer, tennis and keeping up with current events.

Darcy Pfeifer, Development Manager
Darcy joined Two Ten in June 2012 from the Fortunato Consulting Group (FCG) where she was Vice President and Managing Director, working with Boston area nonprofits on fundraising, development, marketing and events. Prior to joining FCG, Darcy served as an Account Supervisor at Arnold Worldwide, where she developed, implemented and managed strategic communications plans for a roster of clients that included Ameritrade, Haverford College and Tyson Foods. Before joining Arnold, Darcy worked at Citizens Bank as a public affairs officer working on corporate giving, employee volunteer programs, corporate sponsorships and media relations. Darcy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Vermont where she was president and treasurer of the sailing team and a passionate skier. In 2012 Darcy was accepted into the Museum of Fine Arts Associates program and currently serves as secretary of the Thimble Islands Sailing Club.

Tress Ricker, Intake Specialist
Tress has been a licensed social worker since 1995 with a background in crisis hotline service and working with low-income families, in addition to managing a Head Start preschool for several years. Tress earned an award as Cape Ann Families Family Supporter of the Year Award in 2003. Tress earned her bachelor's degree in social work and graduated magna cum laude from Wheelock College of Boston. Tress is an animal lover and enjoys reading and dancing in her spare time.

Ernesto Teixeira, Accounting Associate
Ernesto's first full-time role at Two Ten was as Programs Assistant, followed by a role as Scholarship Coordinator, where he facilitated scholarship awards for scholars who were pursuing their college degree. One promotion later, Ernesto finds himself back to his roots as Accounting Associate. Ernesto was born in Portugal and is proud to have become a U.S. citizen in 2008. In his spare time, Ernesto enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family.

Katie Whewell, Office Manager
Katie graduated with honors from Emmanuel College in Boston and earned distinction in the field of political science for completing and presenting a substantial senior thesis. She is also a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the honor society for political science. Her professional credentials include positions at M.I.T, Barney Frank's 2010 Campaign for Congress, Needham Community Council and the New England Aquarium. Katie has a great interest in travel ever since she studied abroad in Cork, Ireland. Her other interests include history, cooking, keeping up with current events and bargain hunting.
